VAIL, Colo. - After Tuesday's second round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge, Pepperdine sophomore Grace Na still has a share of the lead, senior Kaitlin Drolson moved up 35 spots on the leaderboard and the Waves' women's golf team is within striking distance of the team title at the season-opening tournament.

Facing extremely windy conditions at the par-72 Red Sky Golf Club, the Waves shot a 306, which was only two strokes off the best score of the day. Pepperdine began the round tied for fifth place but moved up into a tie for second place at 606 (300-306) along with Mississippi and Denver. Oregon heads into Wednesday's final round with a five-stroke lead at 601.

Na (Alameda, Calif./Alameda HS), like most of the rest of the field, couldn't match her first round success. But her 2-over 74 was still enough to keep her tied for the tournament lead with Mississippi's Natalie Gleadall. Both have 1-under 143s (69-74). Both of Na's birdies came on the back nine, including one on the 18th and final hole to help put her back into first place.

Na, a Golfweek All-American honorable mention and the West Coast Conference Player of the Year last season, is hoping for her second collegiate victory after winning the 2011 WCC title.

Drolson (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) went from a tie for 61st place all the way up to a tie for 26th place thanks to a 2-over 74, giving her a total of 153 (79-74). Drolson had a team-high five birdies on the day. She's tied with sophomore Liv Cheng (Auckland, New Zealand) at 153 (75-78). Cheng had three birdies on Tuesday.

Sophomore Danielle Gillaspy (Santa Maria, Calif./St. Joseph' HS) is tied for 46th place at 157 (77-80) and freshman Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS), making her collegiate debut in her home state, is tied for 72nd at 163 (80-83). Gillaspy had two birdies and Lee had one.
