Complete Westmont Quadrangular Results 
MONTECITO, Calif. - A four-year old varsity record in the women's 100-meter hurdles and a two-year standard in the women's 4x100m relay were both eclipsed by the 2011 Waves Saturday during their season opener at the Westmont Quadrangular, where they competed against teams from UC Santa Barbara, Claremont Mudd Scripps and the host school.
Newcomer Kelsey Ankoviak (Wheat Ridge, Colo./Wheat Ridge HS) finished the 100m hurdles with a fifth-place time of 15.85, easily surpassing the previous school record of 16.49 set by Maria Llacuna in April of 2007 at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
Earlier in the day, seniors Amanda Ajdari (Valencia, Calif./Hart HS), Bridgette Walker (Oak Harbor, Wash./Oak Harbor HS)and Brittany Clark (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach HS) along with freshman Natasha Hamlin (Arcadia, Calif./Mayfield Senior School) finished the 4x100m relay with a runner-up time of 49.12 The old record of 49.33 was set in 2007 at USC's Trojan Invitational by a team that included then-sophomores Walker, Clark and Ajdari plus Rebecca Clark.
The relay's second-place showing was the Pepperdine's highest of the day as it finished the four-team meet with 61 points.
On the men's side, junior Jordan Wozniak (Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge HS) led two of his teammates to the finish line in the 1500m, completing the course with a sixth-place time of 4:08.57.
Pepperdine returns to action in two weeks. Those who are able to take part in the program's annual Project Serve experience will race at the North Florida Invitational in Jacksonville on Friday, March 4. Student-athletes remaining closer to home in California will compete at the Cal State Fullerton-based Benny Brown Invitational on Saturday, March 5.
