AUSTIN, Texas - The fall season came to a satisfying end for the Pepperdine women's golf team as the Waves had the low team score during Wednesday's third round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, and sophomore Grace Na had the best individual round of the day.

The Waves' 296 moved them up into a tie for second place overall with a total of 892 (297-299-296). Only Pepperdine and host Texas, the winning school, broke 300 all three days at the par-72 University of Texas Golf Club. Only four schools broke 300 two of the three days. The Waves, who went from seventh to fifth to second over the course of the tournament, ended up tied with Florida and Tulsa. They finished ahead of five schools that entered the event with a better Golfstat ranking.

Na (Alameda, Calif./Alameda HS) went all the way from a tie for 23rd place to a tie for fourth place as a result of her 4-under 68. She finished with a 1-over 217 (73-76-68), just three strokes behind the winner. She had five birdies during her round.

Na, who was named Golf World's national player of the week on Monday after winning the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown last week, earned her third top-four finish in four tournaments this season.

Senior Kaitlin Drolson (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) also finished strong, moving up 14 places and into a tie for 19th place after a 2-over 74, giving her a total of a 225 (73-78-74). Drolson had four birdies on the day.

Sophomore Liv Cheng (Auckland, New Zealand) had an impressive ending thanks to an even-par 72, lifting her from a tie for 46th place all the way to a tie for 22nd place at 226 (77-77-72). She had three birdies on Wednesday.

Freshman Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) tied for 38th place at 230 (74-73-83) and freshman Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) tied for 48th place at 232 (77-73-82).

The Waves resume play in the spring season at the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif., on Feb. 13-15.
