Cole Earns Academic All-District Second Team Honors

MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine junior forward Laura Cole was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District 8 second team for women's soccer, the organization announced today.
Cole (Whittier, Calif./La Habra HS), a liberal arts major, is currently tied for the team high in goals (six) and points (14). She has scored four game-winning goals, one shy of the school single-season record. In the West Coast Conference, she is tied for fifth in goals, tied for eighth in points and tied for eighth in shots (40).
She is a two-time WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll selection. For her Pepperdine career, she has recorded 12 goals and five assists for 29 points in 56 games played. Cole was named to the WCC All-Freshman and All-WCC honorable mention squads in 2008.
In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
The Waves end the 2010 season at home this Saturday (Nov. 6) against #14 Santa Clara at 1 p.m.
