Feb. 11, 2007

Box Score

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -Antonio Kellogg scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half and had eight assists in San Francisco's 82-70 win over Pepperdine on Saturday night.

Alan Wiggins also had 23 points and added seven rebounds for the Dons (10-15, 6-4 West Coast Conference), who beat the Waves for the fourth straight time.

Tomas Pranciliauskas made five 3-pointers and scored 15 points for Pepperdine (6-20, 2-8 WCC).

The Dons' leading scorer, Kellogg scored 10 points and had two assists over the final seven minutes when San Francisco outscored the Waves 24-10. Kellogg, who recently returned from a three-game absence due to academic reasons, capped the comeback by feeding an alley-oop pass to Johnny Dukes for a dunk with 51 seconds remaining.

Manny Quezada, starting in place of injured guard Armondo Surratt, added 16 points and a team-high nine rebounds for the Dons. Surratt, San Francisco's second-leading scorer with 14 points a game, suffered an injury to his left knee Feb. 5 and is listed as day to day. He said Saturday he could be out as long as four weeks.

The Dons struggled early to get their perimeter game going without Surratt, missing seven of 8 3-pointers and shooting 42.9 in the first half.

The Waves, who had lost three straight and nine of 11, shot even worse than San Francisco but led 28-26 on Chase Griffin's steal and layup with 3:43 left in the half. Danny Cavic's 3-pointer put the Dons back in front before Pepperdine scored eight of the next 10 points to take a 36-31 halftime lead.

San Francisco came out strong in the second half but still trailed the Waves 60-58 after Blake Wallace's layup with 7:43 left to play. Kellogg took over from there and Pepperdine never recovered.

Pepperdine travels to San Diego to take on the Toreros at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on Monday beginning at 7 p.m.
