Ohman, a left-handed reliever, helped the Cubs win their first NL Central crown since 2003 by going 2-4 with a 4.95 ERA in 36.3 innings. In parts of five seasons with the Cubs, Ohman is 6-8 with a 4.33 ERA in 160.0 innings pitched.
Ohman, an eighth round pick by the Cubs in the 1998 draft, played for the Waves from 1997-98 and was an All-WCC second-team selection in 1998. In 27 games out of the bullpen that year, Ohman went 1-7 with a 2.80 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 54.2 innings pitched.
The Waves have had a former player compete in the MLB Playoffs in three of the last four years, as Dan Haren advanced to the 2004 World Series as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals and the 2006 ALCS as an Oakland Athletic.
Ohman was one of six former Waves who saw major-league action in 2007, including Haren, Noah Lowry, Randy Wolf, Matt Wise and David Newhan.
