Tom Hulse Tabbed MPSF Player of the Week

MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine senior middle blocker Tom Hulse was selected as the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) men's volleyball Player of the Week for games of Jan. 21 - 27 announced by the league office Tuesday morning.

This marks the second time in his career Hulse has earned the conference's top weekly honor, after previously earning the accolade on March 9, 2005 and first this season a Pepperdine athlete has earned the award.

Hulse averaged a team-high 2.67 blocks and 2.12 kills per game in two road victories over then-No. 5 UCLA and then-No. 1 UC Irvine. He hit at a .464 clip for the week and recorded a career-best 14 block assists against previously unbeaten Irvine.

The No. 4-ranked Waves continue their five-game road trip this week with a pair of key conference matches. Wednesday night, Pepperdine will face No. 6 Cal State Northridge before heading north to No. 3 UC Santa Barbara Saturday night. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. PT first serves.
