Former Wave Alex Acker Signs Contract with Detroit Pistons

Malibu, Calif. - Former Pepperdine guard Alex Acker, who was a second-round selection by the Detroit Pistons this past season, inked a contract with the club, Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced on Thursday.
Acker, who enjoyed a standout career during his Pepperdine career, declared for the NBA Draft following his junior season, and was the 60th pick of the draft.
During his three years as a Wave, Acker averaged 14.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals a contest. He concluded his career No. 20 all-time on Pepperdine's career scoring list 1,273 points and No. 7 in steals with 133.
As a junior, Acker was named to CollegeInsider.com's Mid_Major Team and selected All-West Coast Conference (WCC) after averaging 16.6 points and 6.5 rebounds a contest.
