Rain Delays Tennis Match

March 18, 2005

Malibu, CA - With only one match in the books Friday, the men's tennis match between Pepperdine and Purdue had to be called due to afternoon showers. The players will resume their singles matches at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

In the interest of time the doubles matches were not played and the Waves and Boilermakers moved straight into singles on Friday morning. Jonas Berg defeated Jarred Leibner 6-3, 6-0 on court three for the Waves' point before rain halted play on the five other courts.

On court one Scott Doerner will look for just one point to finish off Filip Koziell tomorrow, as that match was called on Doerner's match point. The four other matches also have Pepperdine up a set and leading in the second set, as of the suspension.
