Malibu, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's tennis team concluded day three of this weekend's action at the 2005 National Intercollegiate Indoor Tennis Championships held by The Ohio State University in Columbus and at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships in Los Angeles, California.
Senior Pedro Rico was eliminated from the ITA Indoors when he was defeated by Oklahoma State's Daniel Byrnes 7-6, 6-3 in the consolation singles.

In Los Angeles at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships, the Wave duo of Richard Johnson and Kevin Borzenski advanced to the semifinals in doubles action, but were eliminated 8-5 by UCLA's Aaron Yovan and Mathieu Dehaine. The Waves defeated Boris Bakalov and Tom Jelsma from Pacific Asuza 8-3 in the quarterfinals.
Head Coach Adam Steinberg was pleased with the Wave duo. "Richard and Kevin played very well in the semifinals against a great team. It was one of their best doubles matches of the year."
The Pepperdine men's tennis team will resume action in January with its first competition being the Sherwood Cup from January 13-15.
