Malibu, Calif. - The ITA Regionals hosted by the Pepperdine Waves on its Malibu campus kicked off Wednesday morning to begin the qualifying round of singles play and the doubles main draw.

In the first round of qualifying singles, UCLA's Jaysen Chung defeated Pepperdine freshman Peter Luck 6-1, 6-1 and advanced to the semifinals after beating Nathan Cochrane of Arizona 6-4, 6-4. Also playing in the semifinals is LMU's Matt Fortune who will face UCLA's Jason Nguyen, who beat Pepperdine's Troy Aiken 6-1, 6-0 in the second round, while Chung will square off against Arizona's Peter Zimmer.

In the doubles main draw, Ivan d'Argence Arceo and Grant Robertson of UC Santa Barbara advanced to the second round after defeating Anthony Gomez and Robert Sabo of San Diego State 8-6. Also seeing action in the first round was USC's Aaron Badart and Whit Livingston who handed UCLA's Adam Draper and Leif Sunderland an 8-6 defeat. The second round of doubles competition will kick-off Thursday at 4 p.m, while the singles main draw will begin Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
