Rachel Kyono Tied For Eighth Place After Two Rounds Of Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge

Junior Rachel Kyono carded a five-over score of 76 on Tuesday and is currently tied for eighth place after two rounds of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge being contested at the par-71, 5,912-yard Palos Verdes Golf Club in nearby Palos Verdes Estates.

Kyono, who fired an opening round one-over par 72 on Monday, is tied with three other golfers for eighth place. UCLA's Charlotte Mayorkas turned in a two-under par 69 and holds a seven-shot advantage over Tulsa's Julie Tvede, who is at even-par 142 following two rounds of play.

Susie Matthews of UCLA and Ohio State's Kristen White are tied for third with 36-hole totals of two-over par 144.

UCLA is the current team leader at 11-over par 579 and holds a 25-shot lead over New Mexico (604). Arizona (606) is third and is followed by Ohio State (612) and California (613).

Pepperdine is currently in 11thh place with a 36-hole score of 617.

Waves freshman Eileen Vargas is tied for 13th at eight-over par 150, while sophomore All-American Carolina Llano (154) is tied for 33rd and Maria C. Arenas is tied for 68th at 165. Sophomore Courtney Clark has a 54-hole score of 178.

The final round is scheduled for Wednesday at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
