Tuscaloosa, Alabama - The first day of competition at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Alabama yielded good results for Pepperdine's Kevin Borzenski and Alexis Rafidison. Both advanced to the quarterfinals of their respective flights.

Borzenski defeated Jordan Jones (MSU), 6-0, 6-1 and James Joyce (Samford), 6-3, 6-2 in Singles Flight C to setup Saturday's quarterfinals match-up with Wake Forest's Joe Bates.

Rafidison advanced in Singles Flight B following a 6-2, 6-1 win over Chris Rea (USM) and a walkover win over an injured Ryan Waits (Miami). Rafidison faces Marko Rajevac of Georgia Tech Saturday morning.

Rafidison is also competing in doubles action this weekend with partner Richard Johnson. The duo will look to make its way through the consolation bracket after falling to Josh Cohen/Eric Hechtmen of Miami Friday, 8-4.
