PEPPERDINE 2024-25: Competed in 13 meets as a freshman … In program history, swam the fourth fastest time in the 100 breast (1:03.96) and the seventh fastest time in the 200 breast (2:21.07).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Island School, located in Kauai, Hawaii, in 2024 … Lettered three years of high school … A three-time breaststroke state champion … Island School Athlete Performer of the Year winner her senior year … A three-time KIF All Star … 100 free and 100 breast KIF individual Champion as a sophomore … 50 free and 100 breast KIF Champion as a junior … 50 free and 100 breast KIF Champion as a senior … Helped her team win the KIF Championships in 2022, 2023 and 2024 … Also lettered in paddling.
CLUB: Currently swims for Punahou Aquatics and swam for Kauai Aquatics for six years … Holds seven total club team records (50 fly, 50 breast, 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 free relay, 200 IM relay and 200 medley relay) … A senior champion in the 100 and 200 breast … Also competed on the Hawai’i Zones Team.
PERSONAL: Majoring in business ... Born in Honolulu, Hawai’i ... Daughter of Deborah Christian and John Inouye ... Chose to attend Pepperdine because “Pepperdine carries the values that are similar to mine living in Hawai’i: Kuleana (responsibility), malama (caring for each other), ohana (family) and laulima (working together). When I chose Pepperdine, the environment and people were the things that made it feel like home to me.” Loves swimming because of all the new experiences and people she has met while traveling to different states for competitions.
FAVORITES: Enjoys paddling and going to the beach … Favorites include, Moana (movie), All American (TV show), The Green, SZA and The Vitals 808 (musical artists), acai bowls (food) and volleyball and soccer (sport besides swimming).
