RICHMOND, Va. – Pepperdine Swim & Dive has received the designation of CSCAA Scholar All-America Team for the 22nd consecutive semester, announced today by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.Â
"We couldn't be more proud of our women for earning the two highest semester GPAs in program history this year," said head coach Dan Marella. "It's a testament to our commitment to excellence in both the classroom and the pool. Our philosophy has always been that academic and athletic success go hand in hand, and this achievement reflects the dedication our student-athletes bring to both every single day. We're especially proud of Jackie Johnson and Vivian Vallely for becoming the first Scholastic All-Americans in program history. It's a milestone that speaks to the culture this team continues to build."
To be eligible for this distinction, teams must post a grade point average of 3.00 or higher during the spring 2026 semester. Nationwide, 714 teams from 418 institutions were honored, representing a total of 16,680 student-athletes.Â
Swim & Dive's 32 athletes combined for a 3.60 GPA, signalling their dedication to both their studies and sport. As a department, Wave athletes posted a 3.370 GPA during the 2025-26 academic year, the highest in the school's history. Swim & Dive led the list, with 24 of their athletes notching an A- average or better, and 12 members achieving an unblemished 4.0 in either the fall or spring semester.Â
In addition to team honors, divers Vivian Vallely and Jackie Johnson were recently named to the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Second Team. The award celebrates collegiate swimmers and divers who exhibit superb athletic and academic success. Eligibility is determined by a qualifying time/score combined with a 3.5 GPA minimum.Â
