Chris Flood is in his second season with the Pepperdine women's beach volleyball as an assistant coach in the upcoming 2025 season. 

"We are excited to add Chris as our assistant beach coach this season,” said Sicoli. “He will primarily work on player development on and off the court through video. Chris has a long experience with technical development from top professional to high school players. I also want to thank President Jim Gash and Dr. Steve Potts for immediately supporting us in regards to  the new NCAA assistant coach rule.”
 
Flood comes to Pepperdine after spending three seasons at Mira Costa High School. While there, he served as the freshman and sophomore head volleyball coach for both the beach and indoor volleyball teams as well as the varsity assistant beach volleyball coach. Flood helped lead the varsity beach volleyball squad to a state and national championship.
 
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join the already remarkable Pepperdine beach volleyball coaching staff,” said Flood. “The historically competitive program along with my amazing colleagues make this a great fit. Excited to join the Waves’ family!”
 
Flood has also served as Team Canada’s assistant volleyball coach where he helped the team earn fifth place at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. The team also were FIVB World Champions and named the FIVB most outstanding team in 2019 during his tenure.
 
Prior to his coaching experience, Flood played indoor volleyball for Missouri Baptist University and helped lead them to back-to-back national championships. He also received multiple All-Conference first and second team awards.
 
He brings in a variety of skills that will help the Waves this coming season. Flood has a coaching philosophy that focuses on mental resilience in addition to technical skills and he emphasizes team cohesion. He’s developed players at every level from juniors, professionals on the FIVB Tour in addition to Olympic athletes. Flood brings a supportive and empowering environment that will help Pepperdine be successful.
 
Flood earned his bachelor’s degree from Missouri Baptist in sport and fitness administration/management. He then went on to get a bachelor of science in applied management from Grand Canyon University.
