Glenn Rivera joined Pepperdine athletics as a sports performance intern in May 2021 and was promoted to a graduate assistant role thereafter. In August 2022, Rivera was once again promoted to assistant sports performance coach working directly with women’s basketball, women’s tennis and water polo.

As a sports performance coach, Rivera is dedicated to upholding the values of Pepperdine University through creating an atmosphere of teamwork and inclusivity for all student-athletes and teams that he works with. He is passionate about using evidence-based practice along with
his expertise in strength and conditioning in order to help people push past what they believe their limits are.

Rivera obtained his undergraduate degree in kinesiology from Cal State Los Angeles in 2016 where he was a student-athlete competing for the track and field team. During his time at Cal State LA he was a California Collegiate Athletic Association individual champion in the shot put. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Pepperdine.

While working as a graduate assistant coach, he obtained his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS). Prior to working at Pepperdine, Glenn worked as a physical therapy aide and also founded a small golf lifestyle/apparel business.
