PEPPERDINE 2019-20: Made the only appearance of his career on senior day vs. BYU (2/29), coming in for the final minute ... Made a free throw for the first and only point of his career ... Joined the men’s basketball team as a walk-on ahead of his senior season after just being a regular student his first three years ... Named to the NABC Honors Court ... Earned WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll “bronze” honors ... A Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Ramapo High School, located in Franklin Lakes, N.J., in 2016 ... Played two years of varsity basketball ... Won Big North titles in 2015 and 2016 ... In 2016, was #1 in the state sectional rankings and was rated #1 in the county for the first time in school history ... Also lettered in baseball ... On the honor roll and a member of the Spanish Honor Society.
CLUB: Played with Green Raiders.
PERSONAL: Majoring in international business ... Son of Cheryl and Robert Skead ... Has two siblings, Kirsten and John ... His father played baseball at Fairleigh Dickinson and his mother played soccer at Babson College ... A grandfather, Frank Middendorf, played for the Washington Redskins ... An uncle, Max Middendorf and a cousin, Erik Middendorf, played in the NHL ... Also served as Pepperdine’s senior class president during his year on the basketball team ... Chose to attend Pepperdine because “when I visited the school I felt it was where I was supposed to be.”
FAVORITES: Enjoys fishing, skiing, traveling and surfing ... Favorites include Steve Nash (pro basketball player), the Harry Potter series (books), Iron Man (movie), Game of Thrones (TV show), Jonas Brothers (musical artist), bagels (food) and baseball (sport other than basketball) ... Favorite thing about basketball is “the competition.”
