- The 2026-27 season marks the beginning of a historic new chapter as Pepperdine prepares to open The Mountain at Mullin Park, the new home of Waves basketball.
- The West Coast Conference also has a new shape, with the departure of Gonzaga, Washington State and Oregon State this past offseason to go with the addition of Denver.
- Pepperdine was selected to finish seventh in the WCC Preseason Coaches Poll.
