No. 13 Women’s Golf Sits Fourth Through Two Rounds at Golfweek Red Sky Classic

WOLCOTT, Colo. — No. 13 Pepperdine women's golf remains in fourth place following the second round of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic from Red Sky Golf Club on Tuesday.
The Waves shot 8-under as a team for the second straight day, moving to 16-under for the tournament. The 16-under par mark is the second-lowest 36-hole total in program history, behind only the 2008 Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown (-28).
Eunseo Choi moved into third place on the individual leaderboard at 8-under with a 67 (-5) today, the third-lowest round of the day in the field. Four Waves shot even par or better for the second straight day.
USC (-33) holds a 15-stroke over the field, with the Waves sitting two strokes behind second-place Miami. Pepperdine will play alongside USC, Miami and Texas A&M tomorrow, with the shotgun start set for 8:15 a.m. PT.
"The Waves finished the second round strong with eagles on the 18th hole by Irene Kim and Kylee Choi," noted head coach Laurie Gibbs. "It's awesome to be paired in the final group with the leaders and battling to move up the leaderboard. Eunseo is three shots back for the individual title."
Eunseo Choi paced the Waves on the day with a 5-under round of 67. Choi got out to a quick start with three birdies on the first four holes, making the turn at 5-under with a 31 on the front nine. She sits in a tie for third individually at 8-under for the tournament, three strokes off of the lead.
Kylee Choi posted a 70 (-2) for the second straight round to begin the tournament. Choi rebounded from her first bogey of the week on the 7th hole with a birdie on the 8th. She made par on every other hole before the par-5 18th, where she made eagle to propel into a tie for 15th on the individual leaderboard 4-under.
Grace Anderson sits in a tie for 20th individually at 3-under for the tournament. Anderson shot an even par round of 72 on the day, making 16 pars.
Irene Kim came in with a 71 (-1) in Tuesday's second round, going to 1-under par through the first 36 holes. Kim was 1-over going into the 18th hole, making eagle on the 18th to secure her fifth consecutive round of even par or better to begin the season. She sits in a tie for 26th on the individual leaderboard.
Katelyn Kong shot a 5-over 77 in the second round, moving to 8-over for the tournament. Kong made a pair of birdies on the day and sits in a tie for 85th individually.

The Waves will tee off at 8:15 a.m. PT tomorrow for a shotgun start in the final round. Pepperdine will be off from holes 1-3 alongside USC, Miami and Texas A&M.
