No. 13 Women’s Golf Gears Up for Golfweek Red Sky Classic

MALIBU, Calif. — No. 13 Pepperdine women's golf will continue its fall campaign this week, heading to Wolcott, Colo., for the Golfweek Red Sky Classic held Sept. 21-23 at Red Sky Golf Club.
The Waves will compete in the event for the 17th consecutive season and will look to continue their recent success at Red Sky, having finished in the top-two in eight of the last nine seasons. Pepperdine has also captured six team titles at the tournament since 2009.
The Waves placed second in the event this past year, with Kylee Choi and Eunseo Choi each logging top-10 finishes individually.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played on the par-72, 6,376-yard Fazio Course. Pepperdine is one of 20 teams in the field, joining No. 29 Arizona, Ball State, Cal State Fullerton, Colorado, Denver, East Tennessee State, No. 25 Eastern Michigan, Kansas, Little Rock, No. 14 LSU, Louisiana-Monroe, Mercer, No. 21 Miami, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, No. 4 Texas A&M, UC Irvine, UNC Asheville and No. 2 USC.
Pepperdine will play alongside Kansas, Miami and New Mexico State in Monday's opening round. The Waves will begin to tee off from hole one at 10 a.m. MT.

Pepperdine opened the fall season with a runner-up finish at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational last week in Albuquerque, N.M., finishing just one stroke off the team title at nine-under.
Kylee Choi led the way with the first individual victory of her collegiate career, finishing the tournament at 10-under, four strokes clear of the runner-up.
Irene Kim also produced a career-best performance, tying for third at 4-under to earn her first collegiate top-five finish.
Grace Anderson tied for 16th at 3-over for the tournament, while Eunseo Choi (6-over) landed in 28th with Katelyn Kong finishing in 36th at eight-over.
The Waves will have a few weeks off before returning next for the Haskins Women's Intercollegiate, held from Oct. 12-13 in Columbus, Ga.
