Men's Tennis Continues Fall Season at ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. — Pepperdine men's tennis is ready for the ITA All-American Championships, which start Monday as the Waves send a trio of athletes to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Championships.

Aleksa Pisaric, Lasse Poertner, and Gustavo Ribeiro de Almeida are slated to take part in the qualifying singles, while Pisaric and Poertner compete in the main draw doubles.
The fall tournament will take place from the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, with the best NCAA Division I players from around the nation being featured.
The All-American Championships serve as one of the qualifying pathways for the 2026 NCAA Singles & Doubles Championship, with ten singles players earning NCAA Singles Championship berths through the event and all eight main-draw quarterfinalists and both feed-in consolation finalists qualifying. Five doubles teams will also secure their tickets to the NCAA Doubles Championship, featuring the four main-draw semifinalists and the consolation champion.

Poertner starts the year ranked 69th in the ITA singles rankings and will look to build upon his sophomore campaign in which he went 12-9 overall. He primarily was at the No. 2 and 3 position for the Waves, going 7-8 and 5-1, respectively. Poertner garnered WCC Singles All-Conference First Team and earned Doubles All-Conference Second Team alongside Pisaric, as the duo went 8-6 in doubles play in the regular season.
Aleksa comes in at number 72 in the ITA singles rankings to begin the 2026-27 campaign. The junior was 10-9 in singles action last season, doing his best at the no. 3 position (7-5). Pisaric earned WCC Singles All-Conference Second Team.
Almeida is ranked no. 107 in ITA singles entering his sophomore season. As a freshman, 'Gus' made an immediate impact for the Waves, tallying 11 wins in singles and won two straight to end the regular season. The Guarapuava, Brazil native was among a trio of Waves who garnered WCC Singles Honorable Mention and collected a pair of WCC Freshman of the Week awards (March 3 and 31). One of the most defining moments of his freshman year was a clutch victory on flight four that helped Pepperdine upset No. 7 LSU to advance to the Super Regionals.
Pepperdine has four players in the ITA singles rankings to start the season, including Lasse Poertner (no. 69), Aleksa Pisaric (no. 72), Edward Winter (no. 79), and Gustavo Ribeiro de Almeida (no. 107). In doubles, the Waves boast a trio of duos, starting with Pisaric and Poertner (no. 19), Photos Photiades and Almeida (no. 23), and Edward Winter and David Fix (no. 26).
