Men's Tennis Finishes Several Fall Tournaments

MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine men's tennis recently completed several of its 2026 fall tournaments, including the ITA All-American Championships.

In the qualifying singles, it was a tough battle for Gustavo Ribeiro de Almeida, who fell in straight sets to Notre Dame's Kyran Magimay (6-7 (4-7), 3-6). Lasse Poertner also fell in straight sets but it took two tiebreakers against Penn's Shaurya Bharadwaj (6-7 (6-8), 6-7 (5-7), but defeated Ole Miss' Igor Kudriashov (ranked no. 91 in ITA singles) in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 7-6). Rounding out the singles portion, Aleksa Pisaric lost to Georgia's Andrew Delgado (0-6, 6-7 (8-10)).

In the main draw doubles action, Poertner and Pisaric forced a third set on NC State's Jules Leroux and William Manning but ultimately fell (6-7 (7-9), 7-5, 4-10).
At the San Diego 2, Edward Winter fell to ATP 194-ranked Keegan Smith in three sets.
Photos Photiades had four match victories at the Sherwood Intercollegiate Cup. After dropping a match in straight sets, he rebounded with a three-set win (7-6, 2-6, 7-5) over New Mexico's Max Relic, before defeating Grand Canyon's Charlie Pade in a trio of sets (7-5, 4-6, 6-3). He then went on to beat New Mexico's Dario Ciobotaru in straight sets (6-4, 6-3) and Jonty Giesen in straight sets (6-1, 6-4). Will Steinberg, who came to Pepperdine from UCLA, was also at the tournament and gained valuable experience.
Next up for the Waves is another trio of events. Aleksa Pisaric and Lasse Poertner will compete at the Fayetteville M15 (Sept. 27-Oct. 4) in Fayetteville, Arkansas, while Edward Winter will head to the Columbus Challenger (Sept. 27-Oct. 4) in Columbus, Ohio. Gustavo Ribeiro de Almeida and David Fix will battle at the Battle in the Bay Classic (Oct. 1-4) in San Francisco, California.
