MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine track will host the second annual Waves Expo on Friday, April 24 at the Pepperdine Track. The event will take place from 4-6 p.m., offering a unique, fan-friendly meet that blends competition, celebration and community engagement.
The Waves Expo will feature an intersquad meet, with the Pepperdine track squad split into two teams competing head-to-head in a series of non-NCAA events. Competitions will include a mixed 4x400-meter relay and an elimination mile, designed to bring an exciting and entertaining atmosphere to the track.
Throughout the event, Pepperdine will also recognize its senior student-athletes, honoring their contributions to the program and celebrating their careers at home in Malibu as the season nears its conclusion.
In addition to the intersquad competition, the Waves Expo invites the Malibu and Pepperdine community to take part in the action. Two free community races, featuring a community mile and a 4x400-meter relay, will be open to participants of all ages and experience levels. Registration is available here for both events.
"Last year was our first time putting on this event and it was a really special day," noted Pepperdine track head coach Lauren Floris. "I loved getting to recognize our seniors and celebrate them to cap off our season. We are so excited to make this an annual event and hope that you come out to cheer and participate yourself."
The Waves Expo is free and open to the public, while marking the lone home event of the season for the track program. Fans are encouraged to attend, support and take part in the action.
