
No. 9 Women's Golf Selected to Stanford NCAA Regional

The Waves will be the No. 2 seed among the 12 teams contesting the regional. The teams will play 54 holes (three rounds of stroke play) over three days with the top five teams advancing to the NCAA Championships from May 22-27 in Carlsbad, Calif. The top individual not on an advancing team will also punch their ticket to the NCAA Championships.Â
"We're excited to compete at the Stanford NCAA Regional," said head coach Laurie Gibbs. "Our team has worked hard all season to earn the No. 2 seed and we are ready to continue playing well and moving on to the NCAA Championship finals in Carlsbad."

Pepperdine secured an automatic berth into the NCAA Regionals after claiming the WCC Championship for the fourth time in five seasons and 22nd time overall under Gibbs. The Waves won the tournament by 14 strokes as Eunseo Choi finished with a conference-record -9 mark to secure the individual championship.Â
Pepperdine has now reached the NCAA Regional round in 27 consecutive seasons, having reached the NCAA Championships 14 times.
The Waves are currently ranked No. 9 in The Differential NCAA Head to Head rankings, the criteria used for NCAA postseason selection, and are No. 11 in the Scoreboard team rankings.
Pepperdine has held steady in the top-10 in the national ranks throughout the spring, while winning a pair of tournaments in March at the Fresno State Classic and Yale Invitational West.
Individually, Kylee Choi (No. 24) and Eunseo Choi (No. 25) each sit in the top-25 of the Scoreboard individual rankings, with Jeneath Wong (No. 64) also cracking the top-75.
The Waves have twice played an NCAA Regional hosted at Stanford, in 2016 and 2021.
The Waves played at the Stanford Golf Course earlier this fall, securing a fourth-place team finish among 19 teams at the Stanford Intercollegiate.
