Swim & Dive Concludes First Day of MPSF Championships

EDINBURG, Texas – Pepperdine Swim & Dive qualified and competed in a trio of finals on day one of the MPSF Championships.

"Very solid start for the Waves tonight," said interim head coach Dan Marella. "Two school records and a great performance from all of our divers. We are ready to roll for session two."

Jackie Johnson started the morning with a qualifying score in the 1-meter dive prelims. She earned seventh in both that round and the finals (249.70). Fellow teammates Vivian Vallely, Ava Langheim, and Delainey Pisaruk earned spots in the consolation standings.

The Waves also took seventh in the 800 free relay finals. Aliyah Fan, Elliot Easton, AJ Adams, and Ansley Halbach swam to a time of 7:28.85 which tied the program record. The lead-off leg that Fan swam (1:51.02) would be good for the Pepperdine all-time best in the 200 free.

Other squad action for the Waves came in the 200 medley relay. The pairing of Kylie Taylor, Charli Sunahara, Sophia Ware, and Anna Ryan claimed ninth (1:43.13).
