Dive's Jackie Johnson Concludes NCAA Zones

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Pepperdine dive's Jackie Johnson wrapped up two days at NCAA Diving Zone E. Her competition in the 1 and 3-meter events closed out what has been an impressive freshman campaign.

Johnson earned 219.60 points in the 1-meter and 192.35 in the 3-meter. UCLA's Molly Brown was the overall champion in the first event and Stanford's Molly Gray in the second.

From diving coach, Monique Deamisip:

"This has been a stellar freshman season for Jackie. Her strongest finish at zones was on 1-meter, and after the season our whole dive squad has had, I think Pepperdine is starting to gain more attention and recognition, especially at this level.

Zone meets are always a mental challenge with an extremely high level and length of competition. This season, we had two divers qualify on both springboards. I have taken athletes to zones every year in my time at Pepperdine, but this is the highest number of zone events we have entered in thus far. Viv has competed at this meet by herself for the past two years. Even though her season was cut short after conference due to injury, I'm very grateful that she was still able to come support Jackie in her zones debut, and finish out her collegiate diving experience in this way.

Overall, I am extremely proud of what our divers have accomplished this year & can't wait for the continued development of this program!"

Jackie (affectionately known as "JJ" to her teammates) burst onto the scene in her Waves debut—setting the 3-meter program record at 289.90 points. It was this early October dive which punched her ticket to Flagstaff. Later in the season she rang in the new year by claiming the 1-meter Pepperdine mark with 271.20 points. This record did not stand long however, as she bested herself with 283.80 points later in the month.

This concluded a stellar season for the freshman phenom—and the dive team as a whole.

The Omaha, Neb. native will be dive's only returner next team as the team loses Ava Langheim, Delainey Pisaruk, Vivian Vallely, and Amanda Wong to graduation.

A small contingent of the swim team will compete at the National Invitational Championships in Ocala, Fla. March 12-14 in what is the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.
