Cross Country Begins October at The Master’s Invitational

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Pepperdine cross country will send 21 of its runners to The Master's Invitational in Santa Clarita tomorrow, Oct. 3. The men run an 8K at 8:00 a.m. with the women competing in a 6K at 8:45 a.m.
The races will be run at Central Park in Santa Clarita. The men are set to be represented by Luke Bremmer, Micah Brighton, Noah Harris, Henry Hicks, Alex Nield, Reed Robinson, Ashton Smedley, and Beckett Sullivan.
Nearly the full women's team will be featured. 13 of the Waves' 17 runners are expected to compete in the 6K.
Results will be posted to The Master's website here. Parking is free for those interested in attending.
Pepperdine is coming off a successful performance at the UCR Invitational. The men finished second overall in the 8K, with the women earning 16th-place. Dominic Silhol (23:38.8) and Lizzy Crawford (20:37.0) paced their teams, setting program records and running into West Coast Conference Runner of the Week honors—the first such time Pepperdine has swept the men's and women's awards.
Oct. 17 is the last regular season date for the Waves. The top squads will run at the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale, Calif. while the rest of the team returns to Riverside, Calif. for the Highlander Invitational.

The Pepperdine cross country/track program has a rich history dating back to the 1950s with six total individual national championships to come through the program. As one of the original three programs sponsored by then George Pepperdine College in 1937, the Waves immediately began to make a mark on the track world stage with eight total Olympians and multiple regional champions throughout the program's history.
