Cross Country Ends The Master's Invitational; Women's Team and Crawford Earn Third
10/3/2026 3:40:00 PM | Cross Country
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Pepperdine cross country concluded its third event of the 2026 season today. The women's team finished third of 21 teams in the 6K, with senior Lizzy Crawford individually earning the bronze (21:38.3). The men's team raced in the 8K without most of their key contributors, lending the stage to newcomers. They took ninth.
"We were missing a few key players out of our top seven today, but the ladies didn't let that faze them," head coach Lauren Floris said. "Everyone was able to execute their race plans and luckily we were able to come away with a top-three finish. I am so proud of them."
The Waves had five runners finish in the top 50 of the women's 6K. Crawford led the way, while freshmen Mia Hodgson (22:27.6) and Clara Michael (22:59.3) continued to establish themselves as part of the team's underclassmen core.
"We sat our top seven guys today, which gave our younger guys the opportunity to step up," Floris added. "They learned a lot and are coming out of this race stronger."
Noah Harris (25:59.3) and Luke Bremmer (26:07.6) were the first two across the finish line for Pepperdine in the 8K.
The team has one more regular season competition date: Oct. 17. The top squads will travel to Sunnyvale, Calif. for the Bronco Invitational while the rest of the team returns to Riverside, Calif. for the Highlander Invitational.
