MALIBU, Calif. - Playing just its second home match since August 31, the Pepperdine women's volleyball team (11-3, 3-0 WCC) kept rolling to the tune of a 3-0 sweep over the Pacific Tigers (4-11, 0-3 WCC).
Â
The victory marked Pepperdine's second sweep in the last four matches and its seventh consecutive win. Maggie Beauer's 12 kills led all players, while Chloe Pravednikov added 11 more. Defensively, Tristen Raymond paced Pepperdine with nine digs, while Laine Briggs tallied five. Pravednikov and Ryan Gilhooly each had four in that category. The Waves notched a team hitting percentage of .417, the highest since November 15, 2025, when Pepperdine posted a .418 hitting percentage versus Santa Clara.
Â
"I'm excited about how we started October off as we served tough, we were very disciplined on our block, and are taking some great swings," said Head Coach Scott Wong. "We need to keep growing every day we're out there and we did that tonight."
Â
The Tigers looked to play spoiler out of the gates, tallying the first point in the opening set. The Waves took over right after that, rattling off four straight points capped by a Gilhooly service ace that forced a Pacific timeout. Pepperdine would keep extending the lead as Mariia Nikol Dvornikova hammered a couple of kills to put the Waves up a touchdown at 11-5. Despite the Tigers continuing to fight back, the Waves had an arms' length between Pacific, rolling to a 25-17 set victory.
Â
The Waves had no plans of letting off the gas in the third set, racing out to a 10-5 lead behind a balanced offensive attack. Beauer had a couple of kills, and Pravednikov, Puig, Dvornikova, and Raymond all chimed in. Up six points at 18-12, Pepperdine put the finishing touches on a 3-0 sweep with a 7-2 run, getting a kill from Beauer and forcing a pair of attack errors on the Tigers.
