SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Pepperdine women's golf has been selected first in the West Coast Conference (WCC) Preseason Poll, announced today by the conference.
In addition, a conference-high four Waves were named to the All-WCC Preseason Team.
Senior Jeneath Wong, sophomores Grace Anderson & Eunseo Choi and freshman Kylee Choi each received the All-WCC Preseason Team recognition.
"The players are ready to continue the success of the fall," said head coach Laurie Gibbs. "We have an excellent spring schedule to prepare for the WCC and NCAA Regional Championships."
Jeneath Wong is named to the all-preseason team as a three-time reigning All-WCC Selection and a former WCC Player of the Year winner in 2024. In 31 career tournaments with the Waves, Wong has recorded 21 top-20 finishes and 13 top-10s. She received WGCA All-American honors in 2024 and honorable mention in 2023, A model of consistency over her first three collegiate seasons, Wong has placed top-five at the past two WCC Championships. Wong's fall season was highlighted by an eighth-place finish at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic. Wong is currently ranked No. 79 in the Scoreboard individual rankings.
Grace Anderson earns all-preseason team recognition following a successful freshman campaign which saw her place eighth at the WCC Championships. A reigning WGCA All-American Scholar, she also posted top-20 finishes at the Alice & John Wallace Classic and Bruin-Wave Invitational. Anderson's fall season saw her shoot 4-under at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic for a 12th-place individual finish, while shooting 1-over at the Stanford Intercollegiate to finish 29th. She rounded out the fall with four of her final six rounds being under par. Anderson currently stands at No. 108 in the Scoreboard individual rankings.
Eunseo Choi makes the all-preseason team after being named WCC Freshman of the Year in addition to All-WCC accolades following her debut campaign in 2025. Also a WGCA All-American Scholar, Choi registered three top-ten finishes across her final four tournaments, winning the Silicon Valley Showcase with a 5-under mark for the tournament. She went on to finish 10th at the WCC Championships and ninth in the NCAA Lexington Regional, setting a program record for low round at a regional with a 66. She logged top-20 finishes in all three fall tournaments, with a 10th-place showing at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate and ninth-place finish at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic. Choi's Scoreboard individual rankings is currently at No. 36.
Kylee Choi earns all-preseason team laurels entering her first collegiate spring season following a standout fall campaign for the Waves. She posted an 11-under mark at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic to finish third in the tournament. Her 7-under 65 in the final round matched a freshman program record for low round. She wrapped up the fall with a fifth-place finish at the Stanford Intercollegiate, shooting under par in all three rounds to post seven under. Choi currently sits at No. 12 in the Scoreboard individual rankings.
The Waves enter the spring season ranked No. 9 as a team in the Scoreboard team rankings. The fall season saw a second-place team finish at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic and fourth-place showing at the Stanford Intercollegiate to surge into the top-10 in the national rankings.
The spring season kicks off this Sunday, as the Waves head to Palos Verdes to contest the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, hosted by Ohio State University.
