MALIBU, Calif. –  No. 6 Pepperdine men's volleyball team's (4-1)
Cole Hartke garnered three awards after two incredible matches over top-10 opponents, taking home Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation as well as National Player of the week by the AVCA.
Â
Friday against No. 7 Loyola Chicago in a NCAA quarterfinal rematch, Hartke led the team in kills with 17, hitting .364 with six digs and a service ace. Building off the performance that led to a sweep of the Ramblers, the Barrington, Ill. native continued to show out in his home state Saturday against No. 9 Lewis. Willing the Waves to reverse sweep the Flyers, Hartke put up a career-high 35 points on 29 kills, over double any Wave in the match. Averaging 5.75 kills, a hit percentage of .378, 6.75 points, 2.13 digs, and 1.13 blocks through the eight sets, Hartke put together the best resume in men's volleyball over the weekend to defeat two nationally-ranked top-10 opponents.
Â
The 35 points on Saturday were the most in the MPSF by a single player since 2023. Sweeping the conference awards, it is Hartke's first of his sophomore year and third/fourth of his collegiate career. On the national scale, this is Hartke's first player of the week award. As a program, the most recent National Player of the Week recognition came last season thanks to
Ryan Barnett's performance in the 2025 MPSF tournament.

The Waves are back home this week, hosting No. 2 and reigning National Champion Long Beach State Friday night in Firestone Fieldhouse. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. with streaming available on B1G+ and live stats available at
