"This weekend we're celebrating our 13 graduating seniors," said interim head coach Dan Marella. "This class has had a tremendous impact on our program, not only athletically, but also culturally. From multiple school record holders, to NCAA Zone qualifiers, NIC qualifiers, and academic leaders, we cannot be more grateful for their impact on this program. I can't wait to see what the future holds for each and every one of our senior athletes."

Captains AJ Adams, Ava Langheim, and Anna Ryan lead a senior class that has truly redefined the program's ceiling. Adams transitions to alumni status as a 2023 National Invitational Qualifier and a key architect of the record-breaking 800 freestyle relay, while Ryan leaves her mark as a 200 freestyle relay record holder with top-ten times in four separate individual events. Rounding out the leadership, Langheim departs as a decorated diver who secured all-conference honors in both the 1 and 3-meter events in 2023.
The diving well will see a significant shift next season as Langheim is joined in graduation by three of her fellow divers. The group includes 2025 MPSF Diver of the Year Vivian Vallely, who dominated the conference by sweeping both boards last season, and Amanda Wong, the current program record holder in platform diving. Scholar All-American Delainey Pisaruk also closes out an impressive career highlighted by her 2023 PCSC 1-meter title.
The Waves will also say goodbye to seven standout swimmers who have been staples of the program's recent success. Record-breakers Lexi Haymart and Kylie Taylor leave big shoes to fill, holding the fastest times in school history for the 500 free and 100 back, respectively. They are joined by 2023 100 breast and 200 back individual conference champion Charli Sunahara and relay record-setter Elliot Easton, both of whom were instrumental in the team's championship depth. The consistent contributions of Saskia Jager, Maddie McLeay, and Ava Wiley who all attained multi-year academic honoree status highlights the excellence of this graduating class in and out of the pool.
The seniors graduate having helped bring two conference championships to Malibu.
This will be the seventh meeting between Azusa Pacific and Pepperdine. The blue and orange have an unblemished record against the Cougars, whom they first met during the 2019-20 season. Each matchup between the two schools has been held at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool to conclude the regular season.
Last Saturday the Waves bested foe San Diego 945–817. It was a dominant day for Pepperdine, who won 13 of the day's 19 events. Three of the victories were also good for school records. Jackie Johnson was a champ in the 1-meter (271.20), which now gives the freshmen the program's highest ever marks in both that event and the 3-meter. Maile Sullivan's five victories netted her an MPSF Athlete of the Week Award. She set the 100 free record at 50.88 seconds. To round out the successful outing, Ansley Halbach shattered her second record of the season—this time in the 400 IM (4:27.03).
The Waves head to Edinburg, Texas for four days of MPSF Swimming & Diving Championship action. Competition is set to start Feb. 25.
