MALIBU, Calif. — No. 22 Pepperdine men's tennis (1-0) will compete in Tucson, Ariz., this weekend for ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Waves begin with a Saturday matchup against No. 20 Florida State (5-1), before taking on either No. 16 Arizona (3-1) or LSU (3-0) on Sunday.
The Waves' matchup with the Seminoles on Saturday is currently slated for 9 a.m. MT, with match time subject to change pending weather conditions. All up-to-date times and schedule updates can be found

The consolation match Sunday will begin at 10 a.m. MT, with the two winning teams from Saturday facing off at 1 p.m. MT for a berth to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships held from Feb. 13-16 in Waco, Texas.
The Waves began the season with a 4-3 victory over Florida Atlantic this past weekend.

Hugh Winter each recorded singles victories to begin the season for the Waves.
Almeida and Fix also teamed up for a doubles victory, as did
Hugh Winter and
Maxi Homberg to claim the first doubles point of the season.
Pepperdine moved up one spot to No. 22 in the ITA Team Rankings released Wednesday.
The Waves fell at No. 9 Mississippi State in last year's Kickoff Weekend, before claiming a win over LSU.
The Waves have faced off with Florida State on nine previous occasions, all between 2006-18, with the Seminoles holding a 5-4 edge. This marks the first meeting between the programs at an ITA Kickoff Weekend. Florida State won the previous two meetings, in 2017 and 2018.
The Seminoles have been battle-tested already with six matches under their belt, holding a 5-1 record. The lone loss came Wednesday night at No. 16 Arizona, 4-1. Both the Waves and Seminoles boast three singles players ranked in the top-100 in the ITA rankings, along with two doubles pairings each in the top-60.
The Waves will host No. 16 Arizona next, with the match slated for Friday, Jan. 30 at 3 p.m. from Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
