
RV Women's Soccer Hosts Hawai'i in 2025 Home Opener

MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine women's soccer (0-1), who received votes in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll, hosts Hawai'i (0-1) in the home opener for the 2025 season Sunday at Tari Frahm Rokus Field with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m.

With a 12 p.m. kickoff Sunday, there will be a ceremony honoring the 2024 West Coast Conference championship team at 11:50. Kona Ice will also be available to the first 100 fans, served in commemorative WCC Champion cups.

- Pepperdine dropped the season opener to No. 9 TCU in Fort Worth, Texas Thursday night 1-6.
- Kyra Murphy scored the lone goal for the Waves, assisted by Tatum Wynalda.

- The Waves are coming off a 2024 season which saw the program's fifth WCC Championship after finishing (6-1-3) in the conference. The title was split with Santa Clara who posted the same mark in the WCC.

- The last time the program won back-to-back conference titles was 2016 & 2017 as Pepperdine looks to win the WCC outright for just the second time ever.
- Tabitha LaParl returns as the leading returning offensive producer for the Waves. The redshirt senior tabbed six goals and two assists last season.
- Through her career, LaParl has amassed 10 goals and eight assists over her career with 48 caps.
- Tatum Wynalda was an All-WCC Second Team selection in 2024, appearing in all 21 matches for the Waves while making 17 starts.
- Through her first three seasons, Wynalda scored 18 goals with seven assists, adding her eighth career assist at No. 9 TCU Thursday.
- Pepperdine is 6-0-1 all-time against Hawai'i.
- The last meeting came on the road in 2010, where the Waves came home victorious, beating the Rainbow Wahine 2-0.
- Hawai'i won the Big West in 2024 with an overall record of 12-8-1.
