Chirravuri Debuts at No. 10 in the PGA TOUR University Rankings

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. Pepperdine men's golf senior Mahanth Chirravuri debuted at 10th in the PGA TOUR University Preseason Rankings, which were announced Wednesday.

A consensus All-American and West Coast Conference individual champion in 2025, Chirravuri led the Waves with a 70.38 scoring average and seven top-10 finishes during his junior campaign. He also had 23 under-par rounds and eight top-20 finishes in 13 events that year. His scoring average of 70.38 was the fourth-best season in program history, and his current career scoring average of 70.86 has him second on the Waves' all-time scoring average list, trailing only Sahith Theegala

Chirravuri ended the 2024-25 season ranked No. 34 in the SCOREBOARD individual national rankings, and is currently No. 36 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. He is the only player from a non-Power 4 institution on the PGA TOUR University Preseason Rankings.

PGA TOUR University was founded to provide a path to the PGA TOUR for the nation's best collegiate players. The top player in the final PGA TOUR University Ranking next June will earn a PGA TOUR card, while players ranked second through 10th will earn Korn Ferry Tour membership for 2026 and players ranked 11th through 25th will earn exempt membership for PGA TOUR Americas Segment II in 2026. Finishers Nos. 2-5 will be exempt into the final stage of Q-School presented by Korn Ferry, while Nos. 6-25 will be exempt into the second stage.

In conjunction with the World Amateur Golf Ranking, the PGA TOUR University ranks players based on their last two years of their collegiate careers. Eligible tournaments include the NCAA Division I team competitions, all official PGA TOUR events and select DP World Tour events. The class of 2026 ranking period spans from Week 23 of the 2024 season through June 1, 2026, following the final round of stroke play at the 2026 NCAA Championships.

A complete class of 2026 ranking will be released in September before the start of the fall collegiate golf season.

Last year, the Waves finished 12th at the national championships and won their 23rd WCC team title. Head coach Michael Beard's squad is expected to return six players from last year's roster in 2025-26. A full schedule is forthcoming.
