Three Waves Garner WCC Postseason Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Three Waves earned West Coast Conference postseason honors, the conference announced this afternoon.

Following a strong debut season, Eunseo Choi garnered the Freshman of the Year award in addition to making the All-WCC team. Lauren Gomez and Jeneath Wong also made the All-WCC team.

"Our focus all season was to have everyone playing their best golf in April and May," head coach Laurie Gibbs said. "The Waves are one of a few teams that have three players ranked in the top 100 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR). Lauren, Jeneath and Eunseo have been selected All-WCC each year. The players that complete our line-up are all ready to contribute to the team's postseason success."

Choi (Auckland, New Zealand) has played in six events and has a scoring average 73.22 with 1,318 strokes in 18 rounds of play. Choi earned her first collegiate win at the Silicon Valley Showcase in March. In addition to her one victory, Choi has two top-10 finishes, three top-20 finishes and three rounds under par this season.

"Eunseo started in January and has been a great addition to our team. She is one of our program's most talented freshmen. Every week she is becoming more acclimated to college and we are excited about her future success in Malibu!" Gibbs said.

Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) has collected a 71.37 scoring average so far this season, with 2,141 strokes in 30 rounds. She's collected five top-10 finishes and seven top-20 finishes during the 2024-25 campaign. Gomez won the Dick McGuire Invitational in the first tournament of the year, and has posted 12 total rounds under par this season. Making the All-WCC team for the fourth consecutive year, Gomez became the 15th Wave to make the team in all four years of action. Additionally, she was the WCC player of the Year and the WCC Freshman of the Year after her impressive debut season.

Wong (Melbourne, Australia) has posted 2,168 strokes in 30 rounds for a 72.27 scoring average this season.  She has finished in the top-10 in four tournaments and top-20 in six, while collecting 12 under par rounds during her junior campaign. Additionally, Wong won the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP) in March, setting a new WAAP championship record low score with her tournament total of 266 (65-69-64-68) (-18). Wong was the WCC Player of the Year last season and has made the All-WCC team for the third consecutive year.

The NCAA Tournament selection show is set for 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, April 23. The show will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel.
