Women's Golf Takes Third in Palm Desert

PALM DESERT, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's golf team earned a third place finish at the Alice & John Women's Golf Classic with a three-round score of 863 (290-287-286) (+11).

"The players continue to work hard and focus on improving everyday," head coach Laurie Gibbs said. "Today was an important round for NCAA Regional seeding and all six players posted good scores. We look forward to co-hosting the Bruin Wave Invitational next week!"

Lauren Gomez collected her third top-20 finish of the year as she tied for 11th at 1-over with a total score of 214 (71-71-72). Grace Anderson earned her best career finish and the first top-20 finish of her career with a three-day total of 215 (71-74-70) as she tied for 14th at 2-over.

#5 Oregon won the tournament at 34-under with a three-round score of 818, and #3 USC took second at 11-under with a total score of 841.

PLAYER SCORES

Senior Lauren Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) posted a 1-over 72 to finish tied for 11th with a three-round score of 214 (71-71-72). This was her third top-20 finish this year and the 20th such finish of her career. Today, Gomez tallied two birdies during her last round.
Freshman Grace Anderson (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) earned the first top-20 finish of her career at 2-over with a three-day total of 215 (71-74-70). Anderson carded a 1-under 70 with four birdies in her final round.
Junior Jeneath Wong (Melbourne, Australia) tallied a 1-over 72 with one birdie today. She finished the tournament tied for 21st at 4-over with a total score of 217 (72-73-72).
Freshman Eunseo Choi (Auckland, New Zealand) also finished tied for 21st with a three-round score of 217 (76-69-72). Today, Choi shot a 1-over 72 with one birdie.
Junior Yingzhi Zhu (Nanjing, China) finished 17-over and tied for 76th with a three-round total of 230 (79-77-74). Zhu posted a 3-over 74 with two birdies today.
Playing as an individual, senior Nishna Patel (Mumbai, India) earned a 3-over 74 with three birdies in her final round to finish tied for 72nd at 16-over with a three-day total of 229 (78-77-74).
