Women's Golf Heads to Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Colorado

MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine women's golf will compete in its second fall tournament of the season at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, held from Sept. 22-24 at Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colorado.

It marks the 16th straight season with Pepperdine in the field for the tournament. The Waves have seen success in the event, winning it six times in total (2009, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2022 and 2023) while placing second in last year's tournament. Jeneath Wong finished in sixth-place individually in last season's competition, shooting six under par across her three rounds.

Live scoring for the tournament can be found here. Tee times for round one and beyond have yet to be announced.

The full field for the tournament includes No. 4 USC, No. 8 LSU, No. 28 Arizona, No. 32 Kansas, No. 36 Miami (Fla.), Arkansas-Little Rock, Boise State, Cal State Sacramento, Campbell, Charlotte, Denver, East Tennessee State, Eastern Michigan, Jacksonville State, Mercer, UNC-Asheville, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Pepperdine and UC Irvine.

"The team is excited to play in the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Vail this week," said head coach Laurie Gibbs. "The course is a great test and the views of the surrounding mountains are so beautiful this time of year. Our team has enjoyed success in the past at this tournament and we look forward to the competition against some top ranked teams."

The Waves opened the fall season earlier this month at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Minnesota. Pepperdine posted a seventh-place team finish above three ranked opponents including a pair of programs ranked in the top-six. Each member of the lineup contributed to the team score, with Eunseo Choi pacing the Waves with a tenth-place finish at one under par.

The Waves lineup will feature the same five that contested the ANNIKA Intercollegiate:
1. Eunseo Choi (So.)
2. Jeneath Wong (Sr.)
3. Kylee Choi (Fr.)
4. Grace Anderson (So.)
5. Irene Kim (Fr.)

The Waves will take three weeks off following the tournament to prepare for the final fall event from Oct. 17-19 at the Stanford Intercollegiate.
