Pepperdine Basketball Returns with Blue and Orange Madness

MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine basketball returns to Firestone Fieldhouse on Friday, Oct. 3, for the annual Blue and Orange Madness event to kick off the basketball season.

The festivities begin with Madness Village in the Firestone Fieldhouse parking lot from 5 to 7:30 p.m., followed by the event tipping off at 8 p.m. on the court.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. as the event will feature a mix of team introductions, contests, games, performances, and prizes, while offering a first look at the men's and women's basketball programs as they prepare for the upcoming season.

The evening includes several on-court competitions involving players, students and alumni, such as knockout, a gauntlet game, the men's dunk contest, a women's three-point contest and Team Ed versus Team Katie in the shooting stars challenge which features a mix of students and student-athletes led by head coaches Ed Schilling and Katie Faulkner.

This year's Blue and Orange Madness will also honor Pepperdine's newest Hall of Fame inductees, who will be enshrined the following day among multiple events as part of Waves Weekend.

Additional entertainment includes a performance by the RnD dance team, STEP team and the Pepperdine Cheer Squad and then capped with a half-court shot for tuition.

Men's basketball will begin the final season at Firestone Fieldhouse on Monday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. against Life Pacific while the women's season begins on the road at CSU Fullerton on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
