MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine women's soccer (8-4-1, 5-0 WCC) heads south to play San Diego (4-2-6, 1-2-2 WCC) at Torero stadium under the lights Friday night.
"We know how difficult it is going to be on Friday night,"
Head Coach Tim Ward said. "We're going to have to be our very best, but we are looking forward to it."
LAST TIME OUT
- The Waves scored in the first half on a penalty kick as the lone goal in the match to win 1-0.
- Ariana Salvador scored her first of the season and third of her collegiate career.
- Jillian Medvecky recorded her seventh shutout of the year with a career-high eight saves.

- Pepperdine leads the conference with 34 goals scored by 14 different players.
- Quinonez leads the squad with eight goals, while Wynalda and LaParl share the top-assist spot with six apiece.
- Ariana Markey, Alex Pendleton, Layla Simon, Sarah Spears and Lily Stewart have all scored their first collegiate goals this season.

- Tatum Wynalda with a .643 on-goal shot percentage, sits at 14th in the nation for accuracy.
- Tied for first on the squad with six assists, Wynalda has had a hand in nearly one-third of the Waves goals with four herself.
- Wynalda is tied with LaParl to lead Pepperdine with two match-winning goals, both coming in conference matchups against Seattle and Pacific.
- Starting in every game, the sophomore has collected 55 saves this season with seven shutouts, averaging just over four saves a match.
- This week, Medvecky earned her first conference honor with WCC Defensive Player of the Week, also earning an honorable mention on Top Drawer Soccer's team of the week.

- In 34 matches with San Diego, Pepperdine holds the advantage 21-11-2, including 10-7-1 in San Diego.
- Last season, the Waves beat the Toreros 5-1 in Malibu.
