MALIBU, Calif. –
Lexie Martin of the Pepperdine swimming and diving program earned the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Athlete of the Week award after two impressive performances on the diving board in the 184-116 win over Azusa Pacific on Saturday.
On her senior day, Martin posted a total of 264.23 points to win her last 3-meter competition at
Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool, which was also the second best score by a Wave this season. Additionally, she earned a second place finish in the 1-meter with a score of 225.00.
This is the fifth weekly award for Pepperdine this year, and Martin's third weekly award of her career. She previously earned the PCSC athlete of the week award on October 19, 2021 and November 23, 2022.
AJ Adams was named the MPSF Athlete of the week on January 7 after winning the 200 back and the 200 IM in a win over New Mexico.
Madeline Wheeler earned MPSF Athlete of the Week honors on November 18 after becoming the sixth fastest Wave in program history to complete the 1650 free.
Alexandra Browne garnered the MPSF Athlete of the Week award on October 29 after winning all four of her events in Pepperdine's dual meet against Westmont at
Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool.
Vivian Vallely also earned the MPSF Athlete of the Week award on October 8 after qualifying for NCAA Zones in the 3-meter and earning two second place finishes.
Pepperdine will have three weeks off before heading to St. George, Utah for the MPSF Championships, which are set to begin on Wednesday, February 19.
