SAMMAMISH, Wash. – The Pepperdine men's golf team's momentum cooled off on Sunday at the Sahalee Players Championship as the Waves shot 15-over in the final round to finish in fourth-place. The squad posted a three-round total of 874 (284-287-303) at the par-72, 7,007-yard Sahalee Country Club.
Sophomore
William Walsh led the team with a 1-over 217 (71-70-76), tying for 13
th overall – his fourth career time in the top-20. Oregon's Aiden Krafft took home the individual hardware with a 4-under 212.
#2 Arizona State handily won the team victory by 11-strokes, finishing with a 7-under 857, while #9 Florida and #15 Arizona edged ahead of the Waves with a 4-over 868 and a 6-over 870 respectively.
PLAYER SCORES
- Sophomore William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif./Junipero Serra HS) finished tied for 13th after posting a 4-over 76 in the final round today. He marked a 1-over 217 overall to lead the Waves and posted a pair of birdies on holes six and seven throughout. He tied the team-high nine birdies along with three other Waves.
- Sophomore Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas/The Village School) tied for 23rd with a 3-over 219 (70-73-76). He added two birdies in the round today and tallied nine throughout the weekend.
- Junior Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton HS/USC) posted a 220 (72-71-77) to finish tied for 29th. He birdied on hole 14 in the final round and amassed nine birdies overall.
- Freshman Luke Bailey (Encinitas, Calif./Santa Fe Christian HS) also tied for 29th with a 220 (71-73-76). He rounded out the turn today with a pair of birdies in four holes to help the cause and ended up with nine birdies altogether.
- Junior Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit HS) picked up a three-round score of 223 (73-75-75). He finished the tournament with eight birdies in total, including four in his final 10 holes of the round today.
- Graduate Nathan Han (Somers, N.Y./Somers HS/Columbia) ended his Pepperdine debut in 78th with a 248 (85-83-80).
