Men's Golf Set for The Tindall Invitational

MALIBU, Calif. —The Pepperdine men's golf team will continue the fall campaign at The Tindall Invitational, formerly known as the Husky Invitational, on September 23-24.

EVENT INFO — The tournament will be held at the Aldarra Golf Club in King County, Washington. There will be 36 holes of golf with a shotgun start on Monday and 18 holes with teams teeing off holes one and 10 on Tuesday.

Pepperdine will be paired with UCLA, Saint Mary's and a foursome of individuals on Monday, teeing off from holes five through nine. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat and can be found on the men's golf schedule page on www.PepperdineWaves.com.

FIELD — Along with #25 Pepperdine and Washington (RV), the field includes #13 Arizona, #24 Utah, Ohio State (RV), Oregon (RV), San Diego State (RV), South Carolina (RV), UCLA (RV), California, Nevada, Oregon State, Seattle and Saint Mary's.

EVENT HISTORY — The Waves have played in this tournament (Husky Invitational) nine times in program history, winning the title in 2000 and 2010. The team finished in the top-10 in six of the nine attempts and in the top-five on five occasions.

Pepperdine had its one medalist in 2010 as well, Josh Anderson. Along with Anderson's tournament win, the next-highest finish for the Waves was a tie for third by Randy Creighton in 2000 and Carl Smith in 2007.

PEPPERDINE LINEUP — Pepperdine's lineup consists of sophomore William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif./Juniper Serra HS), junior Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit HS), sophomore Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas/The Village School), freshman Luke Bailey (Encinitas, Calif./Santa Fe Christian HS) and junior Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton HS/USC). Sophomore Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif./Cerritos HS/Washington) will also compete as an individual.

RANKINGS — The Waves crashed into the Bushnell/Golfweek Division I coaches poll this week at the #25 spot. Pepperdine opened the fall campaign ranked #21 in the Golf Channel preseason rankings. Mahanth Chirravuri is also ranked #66 in the USGA World Amateur Golf Rankings this week.

LAST TIME OUT — Earlier this month, the Waves competed at the Sahalee Players Championship, finishing fourth after shooting 15-over 874 (284-2870303) at the Sahalee Country Club. William Walsh led the Waves, tying for 13th with a 1-over 217 (71-70-76) - the fourth time in his career he finished in the top-20.
