MALIBU, Calif. — Noelle Rooke has been elevated to associate head coach of the Pepperdine beach volleyball team, as announced by Head Coach Marcio Sicoli today.
"This promotion is well deserved and was an easy conversation to have with Tanner," said Sicoli. "Noelle excels as a coach and is a huge asset to our program. Our student athletes, Pepperdine and I are lucky to have someone who possesses such great character and integrity."
With Rooke on the sidelines for the previous two seasons, the Waves made back-to-back appearances in the WCC Tournament Final and collected a total of 41 wins with a winning percentage of .577.
"I am so grateful to work at the most beautiful college campus, with the best coach in the country, along with our highly motivated student-athletes," said Rooke. "Marcio is the most supportive colleague I have had the pleasure to work alongside, and I truly believe in what we are building and where our program is headed; back to national prominence."
During the 2024 season, the Waves earned eight WCC postseason awards including four first team and two second team selections. Pepperdine also picked up two spots on the All-Freshman Team and earned the WCC Freshman of the Year.
The Waves finished the 2023 campaign #19 in the final AVCA Collegiate Beach poll. Additionally, eight Waves garnered WCC postseason honors including three first team and two second team selections. Pepperdine also put three athletes on the All-Freshman Team.
Prior to arriving in Malibu, Rooke spent four years at CSUN as the head coach of the Matadors beach volleyball program. While with the team, she led the Matadors to 54 wins, including a program best .680 winning percentage and 17 wins in 2018.
Rooke has also recorded a total of 255 wins as an indoor head coach at four different institutions including Mercer, where she guided the Bears for eight years. Rooke collected 98 wins and qualified for the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament seven times during her time with the Bears. She also earned the ASUN Coach of the Year award in 2008.
Before becoming a coach, Rooke was a student-athlete at Florida Southern College, where she was a team captain for the indoor volleyball team and was named the program's Most Valuable Player after she earned All-Conference honors as a senior.
