MALIBU, Calif. – Nine Pepperdine athletic teams earned perfect scores of 1,000 as the NCAA released its latest figures for the Academic Progress Rate today.
Â
For the second-consecutive year, the Waves' programs posted an overall average of 990, while the NCAA average remained at 984.  The nine teams with perfect scores are men's golf, women's basketball, beach volleyball, women's cross country, women's golf, women's soccer, swimming and diving, women's track and women's indoor volleyball.
Â
The swimming and diving, and women's cross country and track teams all have streaks of 10-consecutive years at 1,000 points. Other active streaks include women's golf at eight, beach volleyball at seven, women's indoor volleyball at five and women's basketball at four.
Â
Fourteen of Pepperdine's 17 teams finished above the national averages for their sports. Fourteen of the teams also equaled or surpassed their APR figures from 2021-22.
Â
The APR measures the academic progress of student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term. The current APR numbers include the averages over four years between 2019-20 and 2022-23. Teams that score less than 930 have historically been subject to penalties (a rule that has currently been suspended due to COVID-19).

A full list of APRs for each team, including the Top 10, can be accessed by using the APR searchable database.  Â
