Waves Gain Experience in Transfer Faure

MALIBU – The Pepperdine men's basketball program will welcome experienced graduate transfer Alonso Faure onto head coach Ed Schilling's 2024-25 roster, the team announced Thursday.

A 6-foot-10 forward from Busot, Spain, Faure graduated from Loyola Maryland this past season after averaging a total of 6.9 points, 4.9 boards and a 52.8 field goal percentage throughout his four years with the Greyhounds.

"Alonso's years as a Division I starter combined with his international experience make him a valuable addition to our program," Schilling said. "As a son of university educators in Spain, Alonso values the world renown academic excellence of Pepperdine and is also committed to maximizing out his final year on the basketball court."

Faure had a breakout junior season in 2022-23 where he contributed 8.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest while starting in 27 of 32 total games and put together a 58.1% mark from the field. In 2023-24, the forward once again played in all 32 games for Loyola Maryland, averaging 7.8 points and 5.6 boards and achieving season-highs of 18 points (11/25/23 vs. Missouri) and 12 rebounds (2/17/24 vs. Lehigh).

"I chose Pepperdine because of its excellent academics, prestige, and the opportunity to get my master's degree," Faure said. "Malibu reminds me of home with the beach and the great weather. I am really excited to start this new adventure at Pepperdine University and for the opportunity to achieve something big alongside this team and this great staff!"

Faure joins Aaron Clark as the first class of signees brought on to Coach Schilling's roster.
