MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine baseball team matched Villanova's seven hits, but fell 6-0 to the Wildcats in game two of the three game series Saturday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium.

The Waves (3-12) and Wildcats (4-9) were scoreless through four innings, but Villanova would add three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to win 6-0.

Matthew Boyer (Edwardsville, Ill.) threw four strikeouts in 4.0 innings pitched with only two hits and no runs allowed.

Pepperdine stayed locked at zeros with Villanova through the first four innings. Each team tallied four hits but couldn't find a way around the bases. The Wildcats would break through in the top of the fifth when a single to right field with bases loaded scored two. Villanova would tack one more on, leading 3-0 going into the bottom of the fifth.

The Waves were unable to find an answer in the fifth as the Wildcats would score three more on a sac bunt as well as a double down the left field line.

Villanova would close the game out to win 6-0.
