MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine baseball team will begin conference play with a home series at Eddy D. Field Stadium against the Pacific Tigers.
SCHEDULE:
GAME #1 — Pepperdine (5-16) vs. Pacific (4-16) | Friday, March 22 | 3 p.m. | Eddy D. Field Stadium | Malibu, Calif.
GAME #2 — Pepperdine vs. Pacific | Saturday, March 23 | 1 p.m. | Eddy D. Field Stadium | Malibu, Calif.
GAME #3 — Pepperdine vs. Pacific | Sunday, March 24 | 1 p.m. | Eddy D. Field Stadium | Malibu, Calif.
COVERAGE: All three games will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required). Links to broadcasts as well as live stats will be available at pepperdinewaves.com.
OPPONENTS: The Waves are 25-18 all-time against the Tigers. The first series Pepperdine went 0-2 in 1968 and Pacific took the latest series 2-1 in 2023.Â
LAST GAMES: Pepperdine ended last weekend's series against Tulane with a win and left New Orleans, La. 1-2. The Waves could not get a streak going, falling to CSU Northridge 4-8 in the midweek matchup.Â
The Waves got out to an early lead but the Matadors (11-9) were able to match Pepperdine's three runs and then some by the end of the second inning. A three-run homer by CSUN in the fourth would give them enough insurance for the remainder of the game, beating Pepperdine 8-4.
Junior catcher
Andrew Savage (Woodstock, Ontario, Canada) hit one of the Waves' three doubles on the day and tallied an RBI on a sacrificial fly.

Freshman RHP
Adam Troy (Houston, Texas) allowed no hits and recorded two strikeouts through 2.2 innings pitched.
WCC PRESEASON: Pepperdine is predicted to finish seventh in the West Coast Conference this year. The whole list is as follows: 1. Santa Clara; 2. San Diego; 3. Portland; T4. Saint Mary's; T4. LMU; 6. Gonzaga;
7. Pepperdine; 8. San Francisco; 9. Pacific.
THE SQUAD: The Waves return 21 players from last year's squad including three returning starters in the field and two of the three weekend starting pitchers. Pepperdine welcomes 18 newcomers, including nine transfers.

Tommy Scavone has a career ERA of 3.86 in his two appearances for the Waves. Scavone holds a 1-1 overall record. Sophomore
