
Men's Golf Heads to Big Island for Amer Ari Intercollegiate

MALIBU, Calif. — The Pepperdine men's golf team will continue the spring campaign on the big island this week in Hawai'i, competing in the 33rd annual Amer Ari Intercollegiate.
EVENT INFO — The Amer Ari Intercollegiate, hosted by Hawai'i Hilo, will be held at the par-72, 6,913-yard Mauna Lani North Course in Kohala Coast, Hawai'i. There will be 18 holes of golf each day between Friday and Sunday (Feb. 8-10). Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.
FIELD — There are 20 teams in the field, including #91 Pepperdine, #1 Auburn, #2 North Carolina, #5 Washington, #7 Arizona State, #11 Florida State, #12 Georgia Tech, #16 Texas, #18 Oregon, #24 Texas Tech, #31 UCLA, #45 Oklahoma State, #46 Oregon State, #53 San Jose State, #88 Stanford, #105 UC Davis, #139 Hawai'i, #164 Pacific, #85 (DII) Hawai'i Hilo and Osaka Gakuin.
EVENT HISTORY — Pepperdine won the Amer Ari Invitational in 2020, and William Mouw was the individual champion. The following year, the Waves finished 6th with a three-round total of 830 (278-270-282), which was good for 34-under. Pepperdine also played in the event 14 times between 1993 and 2006 when it was known as the Taylor Made Intercollegiate. Last year's tournament was delayed and eventually canceled due to heavy wind and unplayable conditions.
PEPPERDINE LINEUP — Pepperdine's lineup consists of sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton HS/USC), freshman William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif./Juniper Serra HS), sophomores Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif./Cerritos HS/Washington) and Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit HS) and freshman Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas/The Village School).
LAST TIME OUT — The Waves hosted the first tournament of the spring campaign with the Southwestern Invitational at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. Pepperdine finished 11th with a score of 867 (284-287-296). Mahanth Chirravuri led the squad with a 211 (70-70-71) to finish tied for 17th.Â
